  Worst experience ever, and even after discontinuing my service I'm still getting billed for things never explained in the contract I signed! Small businesses beware - if you don't fully understand payroll taxes don't go to Paychex! After the first month I started receiving bills (and when I say bills I mean they automatically deducted from my bank account) for 'mailing costs' and 'tax preparation services' which were nowhere in the contract I signed. Then, three months in I had penalties and interest from the IRS for what Paychex describes as a 'miscommunication' between the sales person that sold me the service to the actual processor, causing them not to square up my federal taxes although they promised to do all and completed state and local. I even questioned the first cash requirement as it didn't seem like enough, and was reassured that everything was handled. They refused to accept liability, but would 'credit my account' for the equivalent amount of fees. That worked out for them, because I immediately changed providers and requested a refund of the credit, which they responded 'the credit will be needed to pay for tax processing' for payroll they weren't running. Not only did I not receive a refund - they drafted another amount from my bank account as a 'charge for the storing/processing' of my information. I had a lengthy conversation with the IRS and unfortunately this is not common with this company according to the rep I waited 45 minutes to speak with during peak tax season.
